This year (2009) the Goldwater Institute gave a version of the United States Citizenship Test to Arizona public high school students and only 3.5 percent got six or more questions correct, the passing score for immigrants. Later the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs gave the same exam to Oklahoma high school students and only 2.8 percent passed the exam. The students participating had all covered the subject matter comprehensively during their 8th grade.
From Oct. 12th to Nov.12 we challenged America to play this Citizenship Game. Scores were kept and the top ten winners won a year's subscription to Journey Back In Time for themselves and their school.
